Sakurajima, which is a symbol of Kagoshima, is an island of about 55 kilometers in diameter that floats in Kinko Bay.

There are plenty of places to see, such as Sakurajima Lava Nagisa Park, which has the largest footbath in Japan and is about 100m in length. There is also Sakurajima/Kinko Bay Geopark, a facility that makes it easy to understand the connection between volcanoes and the unique nature of Sakurajima. And there is Sakurajima Natural Dinosaur Park, where, in addition to large models of seven dinosaurs, you can find real lions and tigers, and where there is a large 50m slide!

Kagoshima Prefecture is Japan's only prefecture with a World Natural Heritage Site and World Cultural Heritage Site, including "Yakushima," registered as a World Natural Heritage Site in 1993, "the former Shuseikan" (including the Remains of Shuseikan Reverberatory Furnace, the machinery factory, and the Former Kagoshima Spinning Engineer's Residence), Terayama Charcoal Kiln, and Sekiyoshi Sluice Gate of Yoshino Leat, registered as World Cultural Heritage Sites in 2015.

Shirokuma - Generally, “shirokuma (white bear)” refers to freshly shaved ice topped with fruits and beans with condensed milk. It was named shirokuma (white bear) because its appearance resembles a white bear.
Karukan - It is a Japanese sweet that is shaped like red bean paste in a stick. Karukan has a long history and it originated in the Satsuma clan. It is characterized by the dusty and fluffy texture of its dough and its white color.
