Sakurajima
Approximately 25 minutes by car and ferry
Sakurajima, which is a symbol of Kagoshima, is an island of about 55 kilometers in diameter that floats in Kinko Bay.
On Sakurajima, which is an active volcano, small eruptions occur almost every day, even now.
We are fascinated by the typical landscape of Sakurajima which raises the fume, and the beauty of Sakurajima's unique natural form.
Come visit Sakurajima, which overflows with the power of magnificent nature.
There are plenty of places to see, such as Sakurajima Lava Nagisa Park, which has the largest footbath in Japan and is about 100m in length. There is also Sakurajima/Kinko Bay Geopark, a facility that makes it easy to understand the connection between volcanoes and the unique nature of Sakurajima. And there is Sakurajima Natural Dinosaur Park, where, in addition to large models of seven dinosaurs, you can find real lions and tigers, and where there is a large 50m slide!

Thanks to its location at the southern tip of the Japanese archipelago, it is influenced by southern culture, Mainland China, and the Korean Peninsula.
Kurobuta pork - They are fed sweet potatoes, which are a specialty of Kagoshima, which creates sweet and refreshing meat. Please try the charming Kagoshima kurobuta pork, such as shabu-shabu and pork cutlets.
Satsumaage (Deep-fried fish balls) - Satsumaage, called “tsukeage” by locals, was delivered from Ryukyu during the era of the 28th Satsuma clan, Shimazu Nariakira, through their interaction with Ryukyu.
Shirokuma - Generally, “shirokuma (white bear)” refers to freshly shaved ice topped with fruits and beans with condensed milk. It was named shirokuma (white bear) because its appearance resembles a white bear.
